The T2L Education
Mathematics Learning and Teaching Philosophy
At T2L Education we know students in every classroom reflect a diversity of prior experience, motivation, confidence, concentration and ability. For any given maths experiences on any given day, there will be students who are confused by the content or who lack relevant prior experience, or who lack a necessary mathematics skill and others who are bored, since they have mastered the content already. One of the most important qualities teachers need to develop is to be responsive and adaptable to the differing needs of their students in mathematics.
We want students to learn and appreciate connections between ideas, use mathematics intuitively and apply mathematics in practical situations
We want all students to experience success in mathematics lessons
We want students who are thinking mathematically, actively engaged and have opportunities to solve problems and reason mathematically.
We want teachers to be career long learners about the science and the art of teaching mathematics.
Mathematics learning experiences should engage all students in the class, offer prompts for students experiencing difficulty (low floor) and extending those ready for further challenges (high ceiling). We believe there should be a flexible definition and application of explicit teaching including one-on-one direct instruction, small group instruction (where required) and whole class (again, where required). We should be practicing point of need teaching as required during any given activity.

Rob Vingerhoets
Rob has over 250 videos and webinars on T2L TV.
Everything you need to create an comprehensive, engaging and differentiated Maths Program
Multiplicative Thinking
Rob presents a fantastic open ended problem that you can use to introduce arrays to your class. Rob’s activities bring your maths classes to life with his authentic examples.
MATHS Activity SHeets included
We have created downloadable activity sheets to go along with each of Rob’s 200+ video activities. Rob’s videos give you all the teaching points you need to sharpen your maths classes, then all you need to do is download the activity and you are ready to go.
Understanding Multiplication
Rob presents a fantastic open ended problem that requires students to work in teams and demonstrate their knowledge using hands on materials and maths knowledge.
Peter SUllivan
Peter has joined T2L TV in 2025.
Peter brings with him a wealth of experience in using exploratory activities to develop understanding in mathematics
Counting to 120
This learning experience focuses on recognising numbers and mastering addition and subtraction. Students engage in communal learning by reading and saying numbers together. Key concepts include intuitive addition, bridging techniques for subtraction, and developing fluency in mental arithmetic.
Using Empty Number lines
Peter Sullivan presents a representation designed to assist students in mastering addition and subtraction, particularly with two and three digit numbers. The focus is on the Australian curriculum's key concepts of partitioning and regrouping. Number lines serve as a valuable tool, and an example demonstrates bridging techniques.
