Rob presents a fantastic open ended problem that you can use to introduce arrays to your class. Rob’s activities bring your maths classes to life with his authentic examples.

Counting to 120

This learning experience focuses on recognising numbers and mastering addition and subtraction. Students engage in communal learning by reading and saying numbers together. Key concepts include intuitive addition, bridging techniques for subtraction, and developing fluency in mental arithmetic.

Using Empty Number lines

Peter Sullivan presents a representation designed to assist students in mastering addition and subtraction, particularly with two and three digit numbers. The focus is on the Australian curriculum's key concepts of partitioning and regrouping. Number lines serve as a valuable tool, and an example demonstrates bridging techniques.
